Areas of Study

Walters State offers two-year associate degrees that prepare students to transfer to four-year colleges or universities. We also offer associate of applied science degrees and technical certificates that prepare students to succeed in in-demand jobs.

Associate of Arts - A two-year degree with an emphasis on courses such as English, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages, History, Philosophy, etc.
Associate of Science - A two-year degree with an emphasis on courses such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Associate of Science in Teaching - A degree that prepares students who plan to transfer to a four-year university and major in Education.
Associate of Applied Science - A degree program that is designed to give students job-ready skills and prepare them to enter the workforce upon completion of their studies.
Certificates - Validates your knowledge of specific skills in a field within the work place but is not a degree.
